Like No One Is Watching
Something you might not know about me, is that I used to dance ballet for eleven years (ages 3 to 14). It was my whole life, my everything. It was my biggest passion. Until I stopped.
Ballet was consuming most of my time, which is normal if you train professionally. But it made me realize I was not happy or satisfied anymore. I had other passions (like photography, and fashion in general) that I felt had no room to grow. Everything was over powered by ballet. It wasn’t right for me anymore, and it made me unhappy.
Even though it’s not a part of my daily life anymore, ballet will always be a part of me. I will always appreciate ballet, as I know all the hard work that goes into it. Ballet shaped me into the Person I am today. It gave me so much. That’s why this photoshoot has a special meaning to me. It’s a combination of my past and my present.
This shoot was extra fun to do, since I got to play with poses, movement and the gracefulness that a ballet dancer has. It’s also super special, because the ballet dancer I got to shoot was my dear friend Ayala, which is a true star in the making. Shout out to her for always rolling with my ideas.
